Optimum Care Group in Aughnacloy House, Lurgan, is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our Bank Team. Shifts are 12 hours long across days and nights, with day shifts from 8am to 8pm and night shifts from 8pm to 8am.

This role involves caring for residents, supporting daily living activities, and completing related paperwork. Training is provided and on-site facilities include parking and a company pension.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in Personal Care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities (washing, dressing, toileting/incontinence) and meals.
• Follow guidelines for safe movement using equipment when needed.
• Kitchen and laundry duties.
• Attend staff meetings and training.

• Maintain confidentiality and work as part of a team.

Overview

We are looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join our Bank Team in Aughnacloy House. Shifts are 12 hours long between Monday to Sunday, varying with Day shifts (between the hours of 8am – 8pm) and Night shifts (between the hours of 8pm and 8am).

Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Duties

• Personal Care Assist with all daily living activities, for example, washing, dressing, toileting/incontinence and assisting with mealtimes.
• Follow guidelines for safe movement of clients, using appropriate equipment where necessary.
• Kitchen: All relevant kitchen related duties including basic meal preparation.
• Laundry: Washing, drying and ironing duties.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Complete all paperwork accurately.
• Communicate regularly with the line manager.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures as laid down by the company.
• Obtain NISCC registration before employment and maintain during employment.
• Adhere to the NISCC Codes of Practice.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety guidelines.
• Ensure the confidentiality of residents, colleagues and the company at all times.
• Work as part of a team.
• Provide a quality service at all times.

Whilst the above is an outline of the duties you will be required to carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required.

Essential Criteria

• 1 year’s experience in Personal Care

Desirable Criteria

• Personal care experience within a Nursing Home or similar environment
• Kitchen or laundry experience in work or a voluntary setting
• Studying for or attained a care related qualification.
• Be registered with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC)
