Job description

The Royal Marsden is a centre of excellence with an international reputation for ground-breaking research, complex major surgery, and pioneering the latest in cancer treatments and technologies. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Band 5 Staff Nurse for Granard House 1, a private inpatient ward comprising 7 self-contained rooms.

The successful candidate will be passionate about oncology nursing, with the vision and dedication to help deliver high-quality patient care. As a good team player, you will collaborate with the Manager and other nursing team leaders to foster effective communication and improve processes to enhance the patient pathway. The Royal Marsden Trust is committed to the ongoing development of its staff. This position is an ideal next step if you possess the right blend of skills and experience to join us.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. To plan, document, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based nursing care for patients responsibly and efficiently, in conjunction with the shift co-ordinator.
  2. To develop a greater understanding of the needs of patients with cancer and the different treatment modalities used within the unit.
  3. To understand the roles and responsibilities involved in managing a shift, under the guidance of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
