We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our team on the medical day unit and outpatient department at Cavendish Square.

This exciting role involves supporting the nursing team across outpatient and day unit ambulatory care settings. The ideal candidate will be an experienced oncology nurse with competence in SACT administration, venepuncture, and cannulation, and will feel confident in supporting others with these skills.

The Royal Marsden Private Care is a dedicated private diagnostics and treatment centre located on Cavendish Square. As a specialist cancer centre, Cavendish Square offers leading private care services with advanced facilities and technology. It is linked with the Royal Marsden’s other hospital sites in Chelsea, Sutton, and Kingston. While the post holder will be based primarily at Cavendish Square, they will spend 6-12 months inducting and training at the Chelsea site.

Responsibilities

The Band 5 registered nurse role at Cavendish Square provides opportunities to develop skills across outpatient and medical day unit ambulatory care settings. Key responsibilities include:

• Following appropriate training, taking specific responsibility within Outpatients and MDU for patients undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, including the administration of systemic anti-cancer treatments (SACT).
• Planning, documenting, delivering, and evaluating evidence-based nursing care responsibly and efficiently, in collaboration with the shift coordinator.
• Developing a greater understanding of the needs of cancer patients and the various treatment modalities administered within the unit.
