Lead Backend Engineers (Platform Experience & Data Warehousing teams)

Location: UK, Ireland, Poland, Lithuania, Spain, Portugal, Finland

Numi is proud to partner with a leading data integration technology provider serving some of the biggest clients in the industry!

We are seeking experienced Lead Backend Engineers (PHP) to join either the Platform Experience or Data Warehousing teams.

• The Platform Experience team focuses on optimizing end-to-end platform journeys and creating impactful customer experiences, including developing data visualization dashboards and building features from scratch.
• The Data Warehousing team handles data storage and transfer solutions, scaling and refactoring complex data transfer systems for large data volumes, and enhancing internal storage.

As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will lead feature development, ensure high code quality, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers.

You will identify system bottlenecks, improve monitoring, and foster continuous improvement. For Data Warehousing, you will also focus on system resilience and explore AI integrations for data analytics.

You're the ideal candidate if you have:

• 7+ years of backend experience with PHP.
• Proven leadership in steering technical teams.
• Strong understanding of system architecture and design.
• Deep knowledge of PHP core and best practices.
• Experience connecting systems via APIs and optimizing databases, including data warehouses and lakes.
• (For Data Warehousing) Experience in building robust data pipelines and handling large-scale data.
• Commitment to code quality and thorough testing.
• Skills in system security and monitoring.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Bonus skills: Knowledge of infrastructure tools (e.g., Kubernetes, GitHub Actions) and familiarity with AI tools.

Success in 6-12 months includes:

• Platform Experience: Leading significant feature development, demonstrating technical leadership, ensuring high performance, and fostering team collaboration.
• Data Warehousing: Refactoring and scaling data transfer systems, improving resilience, resolving complex bugs, and leading architectural decisions.
