Senior Backend Engineer (Platform Experience & Data Warehousing teams) ???

numi are proud to have partnered with a front runner in data integration technology providing fantastic experience for their clients (who are some of the biggest names in the space)!

We are looking for experienced Senior Backend Engineers (PHP) to join either our Platform Experience or Data Warehousing teams.

The Platform Experience team focuses on optimizing end-to-end platform journeys and building impactful customer experiences. They are currently developing a data visualization tool (dashboards) and build features primarily from scratch.

The Data Warehousing team is responsible for data storage and transfer solutions, helping users streamline data transfers to data warehouses/datalakes and improving internal storage. This involves scaling, refactoring, and enhancing a complex data transfer system handling large data volumes.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of new features, championing high code quality, contributing to technical discussions, and collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers.

You will also contribute to identifying and addressing system bottlenecks, improving monitoring, and fostering a culture of learning within the team. For the Data Warehousing team, you'll also contribute to improving system resilience and exploring AI integrations for data analytics.

You're the Senior Engineer we're looking for if you've got:

• 5+ years of solid backend development experience, with PHP as a strong skill.
• A good understanding of application architecture and software design principles.
• A strong grasp of core PHP fundamentals, OOP, and best practices.
• Experience working with API integrations and optimizing databases (including data warehousing/lakes is a plus).
• (For Data Warehousing) Experience with data pipelines or handling significant data volumes is beneficial.
• A commitment to writing clean, well-tested code.
• Familiarity with security best practices and monitoring tools.
• Strong problem-solving and clear communication skills.
• A collaborative mindset and enjoy working with product and design teams.

Bonus skills: Understanding of infrastructure tools (e.g., Kubernetes, GitHub Actions) and experience with AI tools.

• Platform Experience: Contributing significantly to building and designing new features, demonstrating technical proficiency, ensuring the quality and performance of your work, and collaborating effectively within the team.
• Data Warehousing: Making valuable contributions to refactoring and scaling the data transfer system, improving its reliability and performance, helping to resolve data-related issues, and contributing to monitoring enhancements.
