Lead Backend Engineers (Platform Experience & Data Warehousing teams)

Location: UK, Ireland, Poland, Lithuania, Spain, Portugal, Finland

numi is proud to have partnered with a leading data integration technology company serving major clients in the industry.

We are seeking experienced Lead Backend Engineers (PHP) to join either the Platform Experience or Data Warehousing teams.

• The Platform Experience team focuses on optimizing platform journeys and building impactful customer experiences, including developing data visualization tools and new features from scratch.
• The Data Warehousing team handles data storage and transfer solutions, scaling and refactoring complex systems managing large data volumes.

As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will lead feature development, ensure high code quality, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

You will also identify system bottlenecks, enhance monitoring, and contribute to continuous improvement. For Data Warehousing, you will work on system resilience and explore AI integrations for data analytics.

You're the ideal candidate if you have:

• 7+ years of backend experience with PHP.
• Proven leadership in technical teams and project direction.
• Strong system architecture and design skills.
• Deep understanding of PHP core and best practices.
• Experience with APIs and database optimization, including data warehousing/lakes.
• (For Data Warehousing) Experience with robust data pipelines and handling large-scale data.
• Commitment to code quality and testing.
• Knowledge of system security and monitoring tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with product and design teams.

Bonus skills: Knowledge of infrastructure tools (e.g., Kubernetes, GitHub Actions) and AI tools proficiency.

Success in 6-12 months includes:
