Lead Backend Engineers (Platform Experience & Data Warehousing teams)

Location: UK, Ireland, Poland, Lithuania, Spain, Portugal, Finland

numi is proud to partner with a leader in data integration technology, serving some of the biggest names in the industry.

We are seeking experienced Lead Backend Engineers (PHP) to join either the Platform Experience or Data Warehousing teams.

• The Platform Experience team focuses on optimizing platform journeys and creating impactful customer experiences, including developing data visualization tools and building features from scratch.
• The Data Warehousing team handles data storage and transfer solutions, scaling and refactoring systems to manage large data volumes effectively.

As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will lead feature development, ensure high code quality, provide technical guidance, and collaborate across teams. You will also work on system bottlenecks, monitoring, resilience, and explore AI integrations for data analytics.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of backend development experience with PHP.
• Experience leading technical teams and making architectural decisions.
• Strong understanding of PHP core and best practices.
• Expertise in API integration and database optimization, including data warehousing/lakes.
• (For Data Warehousing) Experience with large-scale data pipelines.
• Commitment to code quality and testing.
• Skills in system security and monitoring.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with product and design teams.

Bonus skills: Infrastructure tools (e.g., Kubernetes, GitHub Actions) and AI tools proficiency.

Goals in 6-12 months:

• Platform Experience: Lead feature development, ensure performance, and foster team collaboration.
• Data Warehousing: Lead system refactoring, scaling, resilience improvements, and architectural guidance.
