Job summary

Nscale is seeking a Staff HPC Systems Software Engineer to define the technical direction of a core HPC platform domain. You’ll shape how Slurm-based capabilities are built, automated, and run across the cloud-native platform, collaborating with cross-team tooling, infrastructure APIs, identity systems, and Kubernetes-adjacent components.

Qualifications

• Extensive production software and automation experience for HPC systems.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Python or similar languages.
• Ability to define technical direction across multi-team domains.
• Deep knowledge of Slurm internals, scheduler internals and lifecycle concerns.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve HPC domain technical direction and architecture.
• Drive cross-team design for Slurm integrations with Kubernetes-adjacent systems and APIs.
• Create reusable modules and deployment patterns for platform tooling.
• Provide technical leadership and reduce duplication across teams.
• Ensure HPC services are reliable, observable, and maintainable.
