Job summary

Motorway is seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer to lead technically across our frontend engineering organisation. You will work across cross-functional squads, shipping features end-to-end and owning API contracts, documentation, and a technical roadmap.

You will drive consistency across web properties, lead migrations, and set security and reliability standards while guiding build, deployment, and AI-integrated workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of frontend experience with production-scale apps.
• Bridge engineering and product between business priorities and technical constraints.
• Frontend authority; provide technical direction across teams.
• Strong CSS/SCSS, HTML, and ECMAScript; familiarity with modern frameworks.
• Experience writing unit and E2E tests; building CI workflows.

Responsibilities

• Ship features end to end: ownership from design to production.
• Author API contracts and department roadmap with clear trade-offs.
• Drive consistency and migrations across web properties.
• Own frontend quality, security and reliability standards.
• Own the build and deployment story; evaluate hosting decisions.
• Develop IC3 engineers into technical leaders; foster ownership and high standards.
• Lead AI-assisted engineering using Kiro and integrate AI into workflows.
