Job summary

LEGO Group in London is seeking a Staff Engineer – Shopper Technology to shape the technology behind LEGO’s digital shopping experiences. You will connect engineering strategy with execution across a broad landscape, reporting to the VP of Shopper Technology and collaborating with Lead Engineers to create scalable, maintainable solutions for LEGO.com and related experiences.

The role is permanent with significant influence across product teams and domains, guiding architecture and engineering

Qualifications

• Delivered technical leadership across multiple engineering teams or domains in a senior engineering role.
• Built solutions using AWS native services within large-scale production environments.
• Developed modern applications using TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js.
• Led architectural decision-making for distributed systems with multiple dependencies and integrations.
• Implemented security and data privacy practices for customer-facing digital products.
• Shaped engineering standards, technical strategy, and software development practices across teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the shopper technology architecture across products and domains.
• Create clarity around system boundaries, contracts, dependencies, and technical direction.
• Enable technical collaboration, discovery, and decision-making across product teams.
• Drive consistent engineering quality and best practices across a cluster of teams.
• Support the adoption of AI engineering practices that improve delivery and collaboration.
• Build proof-of-concepts that validate new technologies and inform future investment decisions.
• Partner across domains to solve complex technology challenges.
• Contribute as a member of the Shopper Technology leadership team, driving cluster-wide initiatives.
