Job summary

Kaluza is seeking a Staff Engineer for Global Billing, Payments & API to lead the API Platform and standards across multiple markets. You will own system design, drive architectural decisions, and guide teams in implementing scalable, secure billing and payments capabilities.

This role emphasizes data-backed trade-offs, mentoring, and cross-team alignment. Based in London, Bristol, or Edinburgh with hybrid work (3+ days in office), you will help extend our core platform to new markets while

• Experience owning system design and architecture across a squad.

Responsibilities

• Own system design and architecture for the API Platform and Standards squad.
• Create and challenge product and engineering proposals, backed by data.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical and product issues, including outside your domain.
• Establish architectural patterns and technical standards for other teams.
• Turn ambiguous requirements into concrete plans others can execute.
• Influence engineering leadership and adjacent squads on technical direction.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a broader learning culture.
