algo1 in London is seeking a Staff Engineer to own the full‑stack product suite for B2B retailers and brands. You’ll own the customer-facing web app and the backend systems, turning ambitious concepts into production software that powers campaigns and measurements.

You’ll work with product, design, and platform engineering teams, shipping fast while shaping architecture and standards. This is an office-based role at a fast-growing startup on the edge of AI-native retail tech.

Qualifications

• Full stack with strongest backend experience in production systems.
• Designed and evolved APIs used by multiple teams and clients.
• Relational (PostgreSQL or similar) with schema design and migrations.
• Experience with distributed backend systems and event-driven patterns.
• Proven ability to ship customer-facing products quickly and iteratively.
• Career growth demonstrated by increasing scope and impact.
• Experience shipping with frontier AI tools and agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the B2B product area end to end from definition to iteration.
• Build the retailer- and brand-facing web experiences using React and TypeScript.
• Develop backend services and APIs for campaign creation, reporting, and admin tasks.
• Collaborate with Head of B2B Product to shape scope and delivery cadence.
• Integrate with Platform team services and extend platform capabilities as needed.
• Design reliable integrations for data flows including promotional and EPOS data.
• Establish engineering standards and maintain Pragmatism in delivery.
