Job summary

Chainalysis in London is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to lead analytical and machine-learning work across blockchain data, spanning UTXO, EVM, and other datasets. You will own multiple projects, shape methods, and drive production-ready results across cross-functional squads.

You will mentor teammates, collaborate with Research, Global Intelligence, Product and Engineering, and stay at the forefront of data-science and blockchain analytics advancements to deliver value for customers globally.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in statistics, machine learning, computer science, physics, mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL, with production-quality code.
• Experience applying analytical techniques to large, messy datasets.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar data models quickly; blockchain experience welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own and prioritize multiple concurrent production data-science projects or systems, translating broad problem statements into actionable work.
• Design, develop, and validate analytical methods, models, and heuristics across blockchain data to attribute on-chain activity and derive insights.
• Stay current on advances in data science and blockchain analysis; pilot graph computation, statistical modelling, and ML on large datasets.
