Job summary

Altium Limited is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to design, implement and maintain the federated Platform API and gateway services. You will work across APIs, SDKs, MCP servers and related applications to enable automation and access for users and AI clients.

The role offers high autonomy and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver world‑class platform solutions that connect people, processes and data in the electronics industry.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a software development role.
• Fluency in at least one core language: C#, Python, Golang, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience designing web services and platform architectures.
• Ability to work independently and with distributed teams.
• Experience with APIs, SDKs or developer tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, extend and maintain the Platform API, SDKs and MCP servers.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using C#, Python, Golang and related tech.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment of API and services.
• Own customer adoption via API, SDKs and tooling provided by Altium Platform.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to coding standards and best practices.
• Contribute to platform adoption partnerships and customer data access initiatives.
