This is a remote position. We are looking for candidates in the United Kingdom only.

What are we doing?

Grafana continues to be a highly successful open-source project, with over a million instances of our application running worldwide. Grafana is also the main frontend for Grafana Cloud, enabling users to visualize telemetry data and troubleshoot infrastructure and applications more easily.

As our Cloud / Grafana-as-a-service business expands, we are transforming Grafana's architecture to be fully multi-tenant, scalable, and a robust platform for our Cloud applications.

Who are we looking for?

We seek an experienced professional with extensive SaaS platform knowledge at scale. Our goal is to evolve Grafana into a comprehensive observability app platform, integrating OSS and proprietary apps to enhance dashboards, alerts, incidents, and telemetry.

This role involves significant refactoring of Grafana to make it more streamlined and standardized. Given its widespread use across various platforms, careful planning and implementation are essential to prevent service disruptions. We are excited about candidates who thrive in such environments.

Requirements:

• Strong coding skills and operational experience, with responsibility for software deployment and maintenance.
• Experience with SaaS platforms and common distributed systems challenges such as scalability, multi-tenancy, data isolation, and high availability.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and choose appropriate communication modes.
• Willingness to collaborate across teams, align work with other squads and stakeholders, maintain transparency, and be receptive to feedback.
• Pragmatism, prioritizing progress over perfection, and comfort with ambiguity.
• Familiarity or enthusiasm to learn Golang, which is used on the backend.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Coding new features, improving operational systems, and iterating based on production insights.
• Contributing to and reviewing design documents.
• Shaping the product roadmap.
• Mentoring team members and collaborating across organization teams.
• Participating in on-call rotations to support customer experience, including weekday and weekend shifts.

The base salary range for this role in the UK is GBP 100,930 - GBP 121,116. Actual compensation may vary based on experience and skills, with additional benefits such as equity and bonuses. Benefits details are available on our careers page.
