Qualifications

• 6+ years building and operating production backend systems.
• Fluency in at least one backend language and framework; ability to reason about system design.
• Real distributed-systems experience: eventual consistency, idempotency, concurrency and failure modes at scale.
• Strong API design and data modelling; cloud deployment (GCP or AWS), Docker, Kubernetes.
• AI‑Native engineer: using AI across layers with understanding of LLM failure modes.
• Senior: track record designing systems others can build on; Staff: set technical direction across services.
• Experience in payments, ledgers, or money-movement domains is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own backend systems for money movement, reconciliation, and event-driven coordination.
• Design and maintain scalable, reliable architecture with strong observability and testing.
• Lead production readiness and incident response; mentor engineers to improve velocity and quality.
• Collaborate across teams to align on data models, APIs, and service boundaries.
