Job summary

Shire Services are seeking an enthusiastic Cook in Charge for a busy primary school. You will lead food preparation, stock control and kitchen housekeeping, ensuring healthy meals and compliant allergen management.

This term-time role (Mon-Fri 9am-2pm) offers 22.5 hours per week across 44.98 weeks per year, plus 3 cleaning days. You will manage the kitchen team and oversee presentation and service setup, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in school catering preferred.
• Knowledge of allergen management and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead food preparation for daily meals and special occasions.
• Manage stock, ordering and portion control.
• Supervise and develop the kitchen team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Ensure high standards of food presentation and service setup.
• Maintain compliance with safety, hygiene and allergen controls.

Term time with 3 additional cleaning days and Monday - Friday between 9am - 2pm.
