Job summary

Anson McCade is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer in Manchester to join a growing national-security technology team. You’ll balance software engineering, infrastructure and operations with a strong emphasis on automation and continuous improvement.

You’ll help keep critical services available, scalable and observable while collaborating with development and product teams to design better, more reliable systems.

Qualifications

• Background in SRE, DevOps, platform engineering or software-focused infrastructure.
• Experience with Linux and Windows, Bash and PowerShell.
• Experience with monitoring/logging stacks (ELK/Elasticsearch).
• Familiarity with Docker, containers and microservices.
• Experience with deployment/configuration tools (Chef, Puppet).

Responsibilities

• Keep critical applications available, stable and performant.
• Investigate incidents and resolve problems across app and infra stack.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks wherever possible.
• Improve monitoring, logging, alerting and service visibility.
• Use performance data to identify improvement areas.
• Advise development teams on reliability, scalability and supportability.
• Work with cloud platforms, containers and microservices.
• Contribute to SRE and DevOps standards across the engineering community.
• Introduce practical improvements that reduce manual support.
