DESCRIPTION

As AWS expands its Global Data Center footprint, our infrastructure standards continue to rise. We seek a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to drive remediation of issues found during our audit program. Based out of London or Dublin, you'll work with multi-functional regional teams in EMEA, driving the teams to mitigate and ultimately remediate risks from Amazon's Colocation Data Center providers. The role requires expertise in Data Center Infrastructure and operations, Program Management, and analyzing complex data from multiple sources to form and present coherent strategies for our Global portfolio. You'll need excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience reporting progress to SVP level. Tolerance of ambiguity and the ability to deliver results under tight timelines are essential.

In this role, you will work comfortably with stakeholders from multiple teams, align priorities, and ensure all stakeholders work towards and deliver key milestones necessary for delivering data center infrastructure remediation for our customers at the right time and cost.

Our Technical Program Managers possess high judgment, negotiation skills, influence, analytical talent, and leadership skills. They clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote teams.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces.
  2. Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote teams.
  3. Up to 25% travel within EMEA is envisaged.
  4. Be responsible for end-to-end program delivery from pre-contract design to final handover to Operations of Colo, Hybrid Colo, & AWS Leased/Owned Data Centers in the EMEA region.
  5. Manage interfaces between internal teams (Real Estate, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Infrastructure Deployment, Networking, Operations, Security, Fiber, Finance) and external stakeholders (Contractors, Colo Vendors) to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of Data Center projects.
  6. Build and maintain the overall delivery program and project budget, submitting Capital Allocation Requests to senior leadership to secure funding.
  7. Collaborate with Capacity Planning, Energy, and Real Estate teams to develop build strategies to meet forecast demand.
  8. Support continuous process improvement through workflow updates, documenting lessons learned, and sharing knowledge across delivery teams to improve efficiency.
  9. Regularly report to senior leadership on key project metrics versus commitments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Understanding of Data Center technologies such as Power, Cooling, and Controls systems.
  • Experience managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks in large, cross-functional programs, preferably in infrastructure environments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in Data Center, construction management, or networking engineering.
  • Experience with data center design, construction, and fit-out projects.
  • Management of complex infrastructure projects across multiple locations in EMEA.
  • Proficiency with project management planning and reporting tools.
