We develop complex data products grounded in the fundamentals of the oil market, providing innovative and industry-first insights that support our commodities trading business. As a Senior Software Engineer with proven experience in offering technical and process guidance, as well as mentoring the team for long-term success, you'll be challenged to think and act differently. You'll have opportunities to engage in all stages, from discovery and design to embedding and scaling.

What you’ll be doing

• Work in a product team to deliver backlog items on product development and enhancement.
• Champion and drive technology best practices.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers.
• Work with users, stakeholders, and delivery teams to understand and deliver value through your product.
• Align with technical leaders to shape and implement Shell's strategy.

What you bring

• Substantial experience in technical and process guidance.
• Experience in Python FastAPI development, Spark/pySpark, Typescript/React, T-SQL/SQL/Azure SQL, and other frameworks.
• Ability to combine strategic and pragmatic approaches to drive product delivery.
• Experience leading an engineering team.
• Strong technical knowledge in web technologies, cloud services, and infrastructure.
• Experience delivering multiple global products.
• Knowledge of other Cloud platforms (Azure, etc.) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of containers and functions is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated application of best patterns & practices in the software development lifecycle.
• Experience working in agile teams, with a focus on planning and principles.
