Job summary

Quest Global Services is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (CAD) to contribute to aerospace and defense projects. You will perform detail design, generate manufacturing drawings, and create installation documentation for complex assemblies and gear transmission systems.

The role requires proficiency in 3D CAD (Solid Edge) with GD&T expertise, experience with heavy engineering and rotating machinery, and strong problem-solving abilities to ensure high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience with heavy engineering and rotating machinery.
• Experience in power transmission systems, gears and gear boxes.
• Familiar with bolted joint analysis and shock assessment.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems (AS9100/ISO 9001).

Responsibilities

• Carry out detail design for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Generate manufacturing drawings and BOMs with GD&T.
• Create manuals, installation and maintenance instructions as necessary.

Job description

• activities to meet the requirements of design for manufacture


• CAD activities including conceptual design, 3D and 2D modelling. Create component and complex assembly drawings. Drawing and technical documentation checking. BOM and gear data generation and engineering change control processing


• Manufacturing drawings generation with a clear understanding and application of Design for Manufacture principles


• Create deliverable documentation including Manuals, Installation and Maintenance instructions as necessary

Required Skills (Technical Competency)

• Candidate should be familiar with structural design practices and methodologies,


• Experience in designing mechanical components, parts, assemblies and subassemblies for heavy industry, power transmission systems, gear and Gear box


• Knowledge about subsystems that impact the mechanical design / layout of the design.


• Proficient in 3D CAD package for both modelling and drawing, Solid Edge experience is added advantage, Ability to interpret and create high quality engineering CAD models and manufacturing drawings, including GD&T

Work Experience Requirements
