Position Summary:

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer plans, specs, and designs equipment, processes, assembly tooling, and layout for NPI and continuation projects. Ensures process design supports manufacturing to meet quality standards while minimizing costs and problems. Develops and maintains manufacturing line layouts for efficiency and compliance with safety and industry standards. Contributes to moderately complex engineering projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and sustain NPI processes.
• Design manufacturing tooling and integrate automation.
• Use CAD (e.g., SOLIDWORKS) for advanced tooling and automation design.
• Design tooling for CNC machining for cost efficiency.
• Develop and maintain assembly line plans to meet timelines.
• Lead tooling, process, and automation reviews.
• Train production teams with certification criteria.
• Create and maintain SOPs and work instructions per ISO standards.
• Identify process improvements and develop related programs.
• Manage project timelines and build schedules.
• Lead training for new processes and tooling.
• Perform design reviews with engineers and peers.
• Maintain documentation, drawings, and schematics.
• Build prototypes for complex processes.
• Collaborate with product designers and project managers.
• Complete work within schedule and budget, maintaining quality.
• Plan long-term process control improvements.
• Develop procedures, work instructions, and training guidelines.
• Occasional travel required.
• Participate in and sustain 5S standards.
• Follow safety and ISO procedures.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education/Experience & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automation, Electrical, or related engineering discipline; 7-10 years manufacturing experience.
• Experience developing automation processes and equipment.
• Fixture design experience using CAD (e.g., SOLIDWORKS).
• Knowledge of instrumentation and process control concepts, circuits, control systems.
• Experience with electronics, pneumatics, automation, PLCs, motion controls, programming software.
• Programming skills in C++ and Visual Basic are a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Access experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Experience managing programs and operational issues.
• Hands-on experience with equipment, machining, fabrication is a plus.
• Firearm and optics industry knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Working Conditions:

• Prolonged sitting, computer work, repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach, bend, twist, and wear PPE.
