Job description

• Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
• Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs and supplies required.
• Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
• Request supplies and materials needed for repairs and
• Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
• Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
• Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
• Identifies the root causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
• Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
• Prepares reports documenting work performed.
• Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
• Collaborates with product manager or plant engineer regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
• Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Salary $22 - 27 per hour based on experience

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to follow instructions from leadership, other maintenance team workers, and any other subject matter expert.
• Advanced knowledge of general carpentry, mechanical and plumbing
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and with efficiency.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Must be able to safely operate power industrial vehicles. (Forklift, skid steer, tractor, ect)
• Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Works well independently and with others.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
• Able to mentor and train technicians, contractors, and operators.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Related experience preferred.
• Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.
• On-the-job training offered.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to visually inspect machines.
• Must be able to work inside or outside year round.
• Must be able to work at heights of 30’ with proper PPE.
