Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Summary of the Role
As a Senior M&A Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting Sage's global mergers and acquisitions strategy. Working within the Corporate Development team, you will contribute across the full M&A lifecycle, from evaluating opportunities through to transaction execution and handover to the integration team. This is a highly visible role that offers exposure to senior leaders and stakeholders across Finance, Product, Go-to-Market, Legal and Corporate Development teams.
You will work across both European and North American transactions, supporting strategic initiatives that help drive Sage's growth. The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop broad M&A experience while working closely with senior decision-makers on high-impact projects.
What I'll Be Doing
You will support the execution of acquisitions and strategic transactions across multiple markets, helping to manage activities throughout the entire deal lifecycle. This will include supporting deal origination, conducting financial analysis, coordinating due diligence processes, and assisting with transaction execution through to integration handover.
You will build and maintain financial models, analyse business opportunities, prepare valuation assessments, and develop business cases to support investment decisions. A key part of the role will involve preparing materials for senior leadership and the M&A Committee, including investment papers, approval memoranda, presentations, and recommendations.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers, including lawyers, accountants and investment bankers, you will help coordinate multiple workstreams to ensure transactions progress effectively. You will also play an active role in project management activities, stakeholder engagement, and supporting strategic discussions around potential acquisition opportunities.
What Are We Looking For?
We're looking for a commercially minded finance professional with approximately two to three years of relevant experience gained within Corporate Development, Corporate Finance, Transaction Advisory, Financial Due Diligence, Investment Banking, or a similar analytical environment.
You will have strong financial modelling and valuation skills, with the ability to analyse complex information and translate it into clear recommendations. You should be comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and coordinating projects, demonstrating strong organisational and project management capabilities.
The successful candidate will be intellectually curious, highly analytical, and genuinely interested in mergers and acquisitions and corporate strategy. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be required to present information and insights to senior stakeholders and work effectively across global teams.
A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline is preferred. Experience within the technology sector, SaaS businesses, corporate development teams, transaction advisory practices, or investment banking environments would be particularly valuable.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, and wants to build a long-term career gaining exposure to strategic transactions and corporate growth initiatives.
