About the Job

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Financial Analyst with M&A experience to take a hands-on role within the acquisition process. Working closely with senior finance, portfolio and M&A colleagues, you will provide financial analysis and modelling across potential acquisitions, helping assess opportunities from initial screening through due diligence and Investment Committee preparation. The role will primarily support UK and Irish opportunities, with exposure to wider European transactions.

Duties will include:

• Assessing potential acquisition opportunities against agreed financial and investment criteria, providing clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Building detailed acquisition models covering recurring revenues, customer retention, EBITDA, working capital, cash generation and investment returns.
• Developing base, upside and downside scenarios to support valuation and transaction decisions.
• Preparing financial analysis and supporting documentation for Investment Committee review.
• Undertaking market and target research, including competitor activity, valuations and relevant sector developments.
• Supporting financial, legal, technical and people-related due diligence and reflecting findings within transaction models and valuations.
• Assisting with transaction structures, including deferred consideration, earn-outs and other deal mechanics.
• Working alongside business development colleagues to maintain an accurate view of acquisition opportunities and their financial status.
• Producing regular pipeline reporting covering deal progression, geographic and market coverage and conversion.
• Monitoring acquired businesses against original investment assumptions and using findings to strengthen future acquisition analysis.

About the Successful Applicant

You will have around three years' experience in financial analysis with direct M&A exposure, gained within areas such as transaction services, corporate development, mid-market M&A or growth/debt finance. Strong financial modelling skills are essential, alongside an understanding of recurring-revenue software economics. You will be commercially astute, confident engaging senior stakeholders and comfortable managing multiple transactions and priorities. Previous exposure to software acquisitions or a buy-and-build environment would be advantageous.
