Wall Street Journal | Barron’s Group (WSJ|BG) is seeking an experienced interactive designer for the Ad Innovation rich media studio. The role involves post-sale custom ad unit production, pre-sale ideation, concept design, and proprietary ad format development.

The ideal candidate will be solutions-driven, proactive, passionate about creating elegant ad experiences, and an advocate for innovation to help WSJ|BG maintain industry leadership in rich media.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Developing competitive custom templates with design, layout, functionality, and custom event tracking.
  2. Establishing best practices for performance, speed, and scalability.
  3. Collaborating on streamlined ad creative specifications.
  4. Incorporating user-friendly experiences adhering to WSJ|BG standards and ethics.
  5. Working with the design manager on ad template rollouts.
  6. Staying updated on new capabilities within the Celtra ecosystem.

Managing production workflows, including:

  1. Supporting optimal team workflows.
  2. Collaborating with project management for seamless client service.
  3. Implementing custom event tracking for performance reporting.
  4. Setting standards for campaign mockups, wireframes, and storyboards.
  5. Contributing to ideation for complex client requests.
  6. Executing quick-turnaround requests with professionalism.

Qualifications include:

  1. 5+ years of relevant design and ad product development experience.
  2. Knowledge of Celtra or similar platforms, including template management and event tracking.
  3. A portfolio showcasing past work with ad templates.
  4. Strong understanding of UI/UX principles.
  5. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  6. Professional demeanor with client-facing experience.
  7. Experience with advanced features like personalization.
  8. Project management skills for multiple simultaneous projects.
  9. Familiarity with ad publishing and testing environments.
  10. Digital advertising background is a plus, along with skills in web/app platforms, coding (JS, HTML, CSS), and API integrations.
