DESCRIPTION

Due to rapid growth in Amazon Logistics, we seek an experienced, innovative, and customer-focused Project Manager responsible for overseeing network-wide projects from inception to completion across all sites. This includes new site launches, dilapidations, and critical projects from an engineering and facilities perspective. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of UK legal and statutory standards to ensure all projects meet and exceed standards, while developing existing processes and concepts.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and external vendors to develop optimal solutions for Amazon's logistics network, including equipment specifications and Fulfillment Centre layouts.
  2. Manage capital projects, including creating conceptual drawings, equipment specifications, and bid documentation for competitive bidding.
  3. Monitor and enforce installation schedules and quality standards on-site with MHE vendors and subcontractors.
  4. Inspect facilities to ensure compliance with corporate standards, managing snagging lists and warranty work.
  5. Coordinate internal departments and MHE vendors across multiple installation sites.
  6. Develop and manage budgets and contracts, including RFPs, change orders, purchase orders, and invoicing.
  7. Work with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, and maintenance practices for new and existing MHE equipment.
  8. Create, submit, and track Capex documentation to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
  9. Collaborate closely with UK Real Estate, IT, Process teams, and Operations Integration teams to ensure on-time project completion.
  10. Understand operational processes and the use of relevant WMS tools daily.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in equipment design and layout of mechanical handling, conveyance, or packaging systems.
  • Proven leadership in large-scale, complex projects.
  • Knowledge of industry practices including Lean Manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and related software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel within the UK depending on project locations.
  • Ability to design and specify MHE solutions from manual to automated systems.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership and technical guidance capabilities for field personnel.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Toyota Manufacturing System.
  • Skill in justifying and delivering complex solutions within capacity constraints.
  • Flexibility to switch between strategic planning and hands-on execution.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects efficiently.
