Amazon Logistics is experiencing rapid growth and seeks an experienced, innovative, and customer-focused Project Manager to oversee network-wide projects from conception to handover across all sites. This includes new site launches, dilapidations, and critical engineering and facilities projects. The role requires full UK legal and statutory compliance knowledge to ensure all projects meet standards, align with existing processes, and develop new concepts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and vendors to develop solutions for Amazon's logistical network, including equipment specifications and Fulfillment Centre layouts.
  • Manage capital projects, including creating conceptual drawings, equipment specifications, and bid documentation for competitive bidding.
  • Monitor on-site installation schedules and vendor quality, enforcing standards with MHE vendors and subcontractors.
  • Inspect facilities to ensure compliance with standards, managing snagging lists and warranty work.
  • Coordinate between internal departments and MHE vendors across multiple sites.
  • Develop and manage budgets and contracts, including RFPs, change controls, purchase orders, and invoicing.
  • Ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, and maintenance practices for new and existing MHE equipment.
  • Prepare and track Capex documentation to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with UK Real Estate, IT, Process, Software, and Operations teams to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Understand operational processes and the use of relevant WMS tools.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in equipment design and layout of mechanical handling, conveyance, or packaging systems.
  • Technical leadership in large-scale, complex projects.
  • Knowledge of industry practices including Lean Manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel within the UK based on project requirements.
  • Experience designing and specifying MHE solutions, from manual to automated.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills with internal and external partners.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Toyota Manufacturing System.
  • Ability to justify and deliver complex capacity solutions.
  • Capability to switch between strategic and hands-on approaches.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary projects efficiently.
