The Amazon Reliability Maintenance and Engineering team ensures all equipment, from printers to fully automated sortation systems, is maintained in excellent working order.

You will be responsible for maintaining automated systems within our buildings and those interacting with them from outside the Fulfillment Centre. Your duties include fault finding, leading process improvements, project delivery across multiple platforms, and participating in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

You will be a key member of a highly skilled team, focused on delivering high-quality results and continuously seeking improvements.

Responsibilities:

· Lead and serve as the subject matter expert within an Engineering Team
· Develop code on various platforms
· Solve complex issues across Controls, Fieldbus, and IT Platforms
· Understand Process Flow
· Analyze metrics for process optimization
· Possess working knowledge of Warehouse Control Systems and Telegrams
· Communicate complex problems effectively across business teams
· Lead FC and Regional Controls Projects
· Advise and steer Vendor projects
· Lead or sign off on Change Management Processes
· Act as a technical point of reference and escalation for FC Controls Engineers, Engineering Teams, Operational Teams, and other Stakeholders within an FC, Hub, or Region
· Knowledge of Machine Safety Regulations and Safe Working Practices
· Drive and develop standards and processes as part of regional initiatives
· Collaborate with national or international groups of engineers
· Focus on personal and team development within Controls
· Identify skill and knowledge gaps within Controls Teams
· Provide technical and non-technical system training to various business groups
· Support or develop IT systems such as IP Networks, Linux, SQL Databases, and Cloud Technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of HND/C or BSc in Electrical or Controls Engineering
• PLC programming experience with Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Momentum, AutomationDirect, Mitsubishi, Omron, Aromat, Toshiba, etc.
• Experience with SQL, Linux, Cloud Technologies, and IP Networking
• Ability to develop or modify scripts in languages like Java, Python, C, Perl, or similar
• Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, global environment with travel requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related fields
• Knowledge of at least one other EU language is an asset
