MMC is seeking a candidate for SQL Server Database Administrator to work from Birmingham or Bristol office on a hybrid schedule of 3 days a week in the office.

Responsibilities:

• Work independently with minimal supervision as an established IT professional.
• Collaborate with offshore teams for smooth work handovers.
• Resolve configuration and performance issues.
• Maintain active-active cluster and disaster recovery knowledge.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends.

Requirements:

• Experience with SQL Server 2016 and above.
• Installation and configuration of SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS.
• Capacity planning and backup/recovery strategies.
• Implementation of TDE; knowledge of Azure Key Vault is a plus.
• Index tuning, performance monitoring, T-SQL, PowerShell scripting.
• Knowledge of clustering, data partitioning, multi-threaded environments.
• Troubleshooting database alerts.

Preferred Skills:

• Disaster recovery and business continuity expertise.
• Ability to solve complex problems through reasoning.
• Strong communication skills.
