Job summary

A leading company in the UK is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) for a high-impact data migration and performance tuning project on a contract basis. This role is primarily remote with one required day in the office each month. You will bring your expertise in SQL Server and Azure to provide crucial support and analysis in a dynamic project environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience with SQL Server (2016 and above).
• Experience with Azure cloud migration.
• Skilled in PowerShell scripting.

We’re currently seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to support a high-impact data migration and performance tuning project on a contract basis.

? Location: Primarily remote – one day per month in office

? Start Date: ASAP

? Duration: Initial 6 months, with potential extension

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform BAU support and troubleshooting across a complex data estate
• Conduct performance tuning and architecture analysis
• Run SQL Server analysis to understand application usage
• Support and manage application-related data requirements
• Assist with basic testing and end-to-end project delivery
• Go beyond traditional DBA maintenance—think strategically and analytically
• 5+ years’ experience with SQL Server (2016 and above)
• Azure cloud exposure, especially on-prem to Azure migration
• Skilled in PowerShell scripting
• Solid grasp of SQL Server Service Bus and modern architecture practices
