Job summary

Protec Camerfield seeks a self-motivated Sprinkler & Water Mist Project Manager to oversee design, supply, installation and commissioning of systems across various sectors. Salary ranges from £35,000 to £60,000 depending on experience, with travel across the UK and some European visits.

The role covers pre-order through final account and warranty, with training and bonus opportunities offered. Candidates should have relevant mechanical background and safety qualifications.

Qualifications

• GCSE in Maths and English is required.
• Mechanical engineering qualification is required.
• NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management is required.
• CSCS Construction Skills Card is required.
• Health and Safety Qualification (IOSH/SMSTS) is required.

Responsibilities

• To expertly handle sprinkler or water mist installation contracts from initial enquiry through to final accounts.
• Assume full financial control of projects, delivering the works efficiently and profitably, including responsibility for raising purchase and subcontract orders.
• Effectively manage the installation work on site; attending regular client meetings; health and safety responsibilities; progress updates and QA checks.
• Prepare and communicate detailed programmes of work to ensure deadlines and contract requirements are met.
• Liaise with suppliers, design, engineers, and subcontractors; report to clients and governing bodies as necessary.
• Negotiate, monitor, and produce quotations for contract variations.
• Identify potential issues early and obtain commercial advice when needed.
• Prepare technical reports and handover documents; compile operating and maintenance manuals.
• Identify and report deviations from scope or contract.
• Ability to travel within the UK and visit European suppliers as necessary.
• Any other duties commensurate with the role.

Sprinkler & Water Mist Project Manager

Protec Camerfield have an opportunity for a self-motivated individual who can manage all aspects of mechanical sprinkler or water mist suppression systems. The role requires a pro-active and pragmatic individual who can work alone and part of a team to collaborate with all relevant contributors for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the systems with excellent communication and quality results to our customers. The project manager will have direct involvement from pre-order through to final account and warranty period.

This is an opportunity to join a growing diverse team within an expanding sector of the fire industry. Current and forthcoming projects cover public and private sectors; including custodial, healthcare, hotels, retail and residential; and range in value from £10k to £5M. Projects are located nationwide and a degree of flexibility in working location may be required. Protec cover all travel and accommodation expenses. Training, further qualifications and bonus scheme will be offered to the successful candidate.

• Highlight possible problem areas at the earliest opportunity and obtain commercial advice where necessary.
• Prepare technical reports and submittals including operating and maintenance manuals and handover documents, by collating and presenting relevant information.
• Identify and report deviations or nonconformities from scope, Standards or contract.
• Ability to travel within the UK, and visit European suppliers as necessary for the role.
• Any other duties commensurate with the role.

• Knowledge of current relevant suppression British Standards and Regulations, including LPC 12845, BS 8489, BS 9251, NFPA, FM Global
• Knowledge of sprinkler or water mist equipment and installation
