Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment in Whitstable is seeking enthusiastic Sports Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Dover and the surrounding areas. You'll join a team working in primary, secondary and SEN settings, assisting in classroom and PE sessions and aiding enrichment activities.

This role suits those with coaching or sports backgrounds who want to help children build confidence, resilience and teamwork; you’ll be delivering small group or one-to-one support and helping with behaviour

Qualifications

• Background in coaching, fitness or sport.
• Experience working with children or young people is beneficial.
• Ability to engage and motivate students through sport.

Tradewind Recruitment in Whitstable is working closely with a range of primary, secondary and specialist SEN schools across Dover and the surrounding areas, seeking enthusiastic and energetic Sports Teaching Assistants to join their teams immediately.

This role is ideal for anyone with a background in coaching, fitness or sport who wants to use those skills to support children both in the classroom and during PE, enrichment activities and outdoor learning.

Your Responsibilities

As a Sports Teaching Assistant, no two days will be the same. You'll be expected to:

• Support pupils with their learning during classroom lessons.


• Use sport and physical activity to encourage engagement, confidence and positive behaviour.


• Assist teachers during PE lessons and school sporting activities.


• Deliver small group or one-to-one interventions for pupils who need additional support.


• Encourage participation, teamwork and healthy lifestyles.


• Help pupils develop important life skills including communication, resilience and self-esteem.


• Support children with a range of additional needs, including SEND and SEMH where required.

Who Should Apply?

• Sports coaches.


• Sports Science or Sports Coaching graduates.


• Personal trainers and fitness instructors.


• Football, rugby, cricket, athletics, swimming or gymnastics coaches.


• Activity leaders and holiday camp staff.


• Youth workers or mentors.


• Anyone with experience leading or motivating children and young people through sport.
