Job summary

Envision Education is recruiting an enthusiastic Sports Teacher for a part-time role in a supportive school. The position is 3 days per week, with a mandatory Wednesday, starting September 2026.

You will deliver high-quality PE and sports activities, inspiring participation, teamwork and personal development while supporting pupils with diverse needs. QTS is preferred but not essential, and coaching qualifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

• QTS or a relevant teaching qualification is preferred but not essential.
• A degree in Sports, Physical Education, Sports Science, Coaching or a related subject is desirable.
• Previous experience teaching PE, sports or delivering sports coaching to children or young people.
• Strong knowledge of a range of sports and physical activities.
• Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage young people of different abilities.
• Positive, enthusiastic and proactive approach to education.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Experience within secondary schools, alternative provisions or specialist settings is desirable.
• Coaching qualifications such as FA Coaching Badges, UEFA Coaching Licences, Level 2 Sports Coaching qualifications or equivalent are desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or SEMH needs is advantageous.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging PE and sports lessons to young people.
• Teach and coach a variety of sports and physical activities.
• Encourage participation and ensure pupils of all abilities feel included.
• Promote teamwork, resilience, confidence and positive attitudes towards physical activity.
• Adapt sessions to meet different abilities and individual needs.
• Maintain positive behaviour and create a safe and engaging learning environment.
• Support pupils with SEND or SEMH needs where required.
• Organise and support extracurricular sports activities, events and competitions.
• Monitor pupils' engagement, development and progress.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider school team.
• Follow safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures at all times.

Envision Education is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and energetic Sports Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking school. This is a part-time role working 3 days per week, one of which must be Wednesday, with a September 2026 start.

We are looking for a motivated Sports Teacher who can inspire young people through engaging Physical Education and sports sessions while promoting the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality PE and sports activities, encouraging participation, teamwork, resilience, confidence and personal development. This opportunity is open to both qualified teachers and experienced sports professionals who have strong teaching or coaching experience.

QTS is preferred but not essential. Applications are also welcomed from experienced unqualified teachers, sports coaches and instructors who are confident working with young people and delivering engaging sports sessions.
