Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting for a PE Cover Supervisor role in Tameside, with responsibilities across secondary school settings. The post suits individuals from sport, coaching, or youth work backgrounds seeking classroom experience.

You will lead classes during teacher absences, deliver pre-set lesson plans, manage behaviour, complete registers, and provide feedback to teachers. Opportunities include day-to-day supply, longer placements, and potential permanent roles.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in sports coaching, PE, youth work, or education.
• Confident with secondary-aged students.
• GCSE English and Maths at 4/C or above.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Reliable, adaptable, and keen to work in a school environment.
• Degree is desirable but not essential.
• Be able to provide suitable references, Enhanced DBS, and Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead classes during short-term teacher absence, delivering pre-set lesson plans across subjects.
• Manage behaviour and engage students to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Take registers and provide feedback to teaching staff.
