Sports Coach & Cover Supervisor

Part-time, term-time only (34.5 hrs per week inc. Saturday mornings)

Permanent

Salary: AAT E, point 11. Actual salary £21,958 per annum (pro rata to a Full Time, AYR salary of £27,852)

Gravesend Grammar School (GGS) has an extensive extracurricular sports programme and is looking for a talented and committed sports coach. We are particularly interested in hearing from coaches in Rugby, Basketball, Hockey, Netball, Football, and Cricket. The role will also include work as a Cover Supervisor, to stand in for teachers when they are absent across all subjects. The successful candidate will instruct students on set work and support their learning in a calm environment. It is important that the candidate is confident working with young people and can build sustainable relationships.

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated to develop as a sports coach, especially those aspiring to coach in professional or national environments. While qualifications are desirable, enthusiasm, experience, and commitment to sport are essential. The candidate must be able to:

• Organise, coach, and officiate fixtures and competitions both internally and externally.
• Motivate young people to participate in sports.
• Develop students' access to school, regional, national, and international competitions.
• Aspire to lead a sport to national success.
• Drive a school minibus (must hold a clean UK driving license).

Flexibility is required as cover supervision demands vary throughout the year, and the candidate should be able to adapt their sports coaching preparation accordingly.
