Job summary

Progressive Sports in Gloucester is seeking a part-time Sports Coach to deliver high-quality PE lessons across EYFS to KS2, run lunch-time activities, and support wraparound care in partner schools.

The role focuses on engaging, safe, and structured activity with strong communication and safeguarding awareness. DBS check is preferred, and a UK driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
• Level 1 or Level 2 coaching qualification desirable.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging PE lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Lead fun and inclusive multi-sports sessions and physical activities.
• Support and deliver before and after school clubs (wraparound care).
• Create a positive, safe, and engaging environment for all children.
• Manage behaviour in line with school expectations.
• Work collaboratively with school staff and colleagues.

Role: Activity Leader / Sports Coach

Location: Waterwells Primary Academy, 2 Boulmer Ave, Quedgeley, Gloucester GL2 2FX

Hours: Part-time

Pay Rate: £12-£13 per hour

Hours per week - 13-14 hours

Key Responsibilities: Delivering high-quality sports and physical activity sessions

Requirements: Ideally a DBS check, sports coaching qualifications, and a driving licence

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working as a Sports Coach, PE Coach, Activity Coach, or similar
• Passion for working with children in a school setting
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• Relevant coaching qualification (Level 1 or Level 2 desirable)
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
• Full UK driving licence preferred
