Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking a Sports Centre Manager for Bottisham, Cambridgeshire. You will oversee daily operations, drive service standards, manage health and safety, and develop the centre's strategic plan.

The role requires leadership of a team, negotiation of contracts, reporting, and customer-focused initiatives to grow memberships and events within a 12-month FTC.

Qualifications

• Coaching and Fitness Qualification.
• GCSE grade C+ in English and Maths (equivalent to Grade 4/5).
• At least 2 years of experience leading/managing staff in a sports environment.
• Proven experience in delivering excellent member engagement programmes.
• Strong knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation applicable to a sports environment.
• Desirable qualifications include Swimming Teaching, Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer, National Pool Lifeguard, National Pool Plant Operator and National Pool Management qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in negotiating and managing fitness contracts to ensure value for money and strategic development of the centre.
• Produce and present detailed reports such as Business Plans and Marketing Plans.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of the centre facilities, including the swimming pool and equipment.
• Develop and implement procedures to enhance customer experience and handle complaints effectively.
• Co-ordinate with the Senior Leadership Team and the school to meet the educational needs related to the sports centre.
• Manage risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Promote and market the centre's services and facilities to attract new customers and events.
• Manage and develop a team of staff, ensuring all recruitment, training, and compliance processes are adhered to.

• Job Type: Full-time, 37 hours per week (12 month FTC)

This role is ideal for a dynamic leader with a passion for sports and fitness, offering an opportunity to manage and develop a thriving sports centre.
