Job summary

Active Essex Foundation is seeking a dedicated Sport for Development Assistant to help deliver and coordinate programmes across mental health, youth crime prevention and community strengthening work. You will work with LTOs and stakeholders to ensure smooth administration and effective communications.

The role supports a fixed-term 18‑month contract (or secondment) with a salary of £26,000–£28,000 and hybrid working across Chelmsford and field locations in Essex.

Qualifications

• Educated to A-Level or equivalent by experience.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Experience working with communities or voluntary organisations is beneficial.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and support data collection.

Responsibilities

• Support relationships with community organisations across Sport, Youth Crime Prevention, and Mental Health programmes.
• Assist in gathering information about people and organisations involved in programme delivery.
• First point of contact for Local Trusted Organisations (LTOs) and ensure consistent messaging.
• Coordinate referrals into project activities and track outcomes.
• Support training, events, and knowledge sharing activities.
• Help monitor compliance, governance, and funding administration.
