Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Teaching Assistant with a strong sporting background for a specialist school in Blackburn. The role is an immediate start, temporary with a view to permanent for the right candidate.

You will support pupils aged 8 to 16 with SEMH needs, helping them engage through sport and activity and working closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning and behaviour support.

Qualifications

• Experience in education or youth work.
• Strong sport/PE background.
• DBS and safeguarding checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Support students in and out of the classroom.
• Use sport and teamwork to engage pupils.
• Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships.
• Work with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning and behaviour support.
• Promote wellbeing and active participation throughout the day.
