An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Advanced Spinal Practitioner Service at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The Spinal Practitioner service is responsible for the triage, assessment, and management of all chronic spinal patients referred to the spinal outpatient department. The service has successfully grown over the last 10 years and now manages over 60% of all the outpatient spinal activity.
The Spinal Practitioner role requires a highly motivated therapist who has an interest in developing advanced practice in the management of spinal pain. The Spinal Practitioner service has become an integral part of the specialist spinal unit at NUH and supports the degenerative, deformity and emergency pathways. The successful candidate will work closely with surgical and medical teams to appropriately select and list patients for interventional treatments and become an expert advisor and leader for spinal conservative management within the trust and local community. The role will involve evening and weekend working.
The Spinal Practitioner service is responsible for the triage, assessment, and management of all chronic spinal patients referred to the spinal outpatient department. The service has grown over the last 10 years and now manages over 60% of all the outpatient spinal activity. In 2019, the spinal service opened an assessment area (NSAU) that could pull acute, non-traumatic spinal pain patients from ED. The Advanced Spinal Practitioner service is now an integrated part of the emergency care pathway. The post would suit an experienced physiotherapist who wishes to develop their assessment, diagnostic and reasoning skills in the management of degenerative spinal pain. The post will be supported by the Advanced Spinal Practitioner team and Consultant Physiotherapist.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro-rata basis for part-time workers.
