Job summary

Rubicon Consulting is recruiting for a SPEN authorised site supervisor to lead a steel structures crew on a SPEN substation job in the Scottish Borders.

The role requires current SPEN authorisation and supervisory experience on substation or HV construction sites. You will manage day-to-day on-site activities, ensure RAMS and safety compliance, and coordinate with SPEN and the principal contractor to maintain the programme. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Current SPEN authorisation (Competent Person or Authorised Person).
• Supervisory experience on substation or HV construction sites.
• Steel erection, structures or civils background preferred.
• First Aid at Work is a bonus.
• Temporary Works Supervisor and HSG47 knowledge is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Supervising steel erection and structures work inside a SPEN substation.
• Running the site day to day: inductions, toolbox talks, pre-job briefs and site records.
• Working with SPEN staff and the principal contractor on permits, access and safety documents.
• Making sure all work follows SPEN safety rules, the RAMS and CDM.
• Keeping the crew productive and the job on programme.
