Job summary

Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) within the NHS invites applications for a Speech and Language Therapy Clinical Team Manager. The role covers day-to-day operational management of the SLT pathway across settings including home, schools and clinics, leading a team of therapists and assistants.

The post requires supervising skills, collaboration with senior clinicians, and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care while meeting performance targets.

Qualifications

• Experience of collaborating with service users and families/carers.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary work and across agencies.
• Experience delivering clinical practice for children with complex health needs; including risk assessments.
• Experience supervising others and developing supervisory relationships.
• Experience safeguarding children and ensuring safety in partnership with other agencies.
• Experience using data to improve services.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective collaborative leadership and day-to-day operational management of the clinical team.
• Ensure the delivery of evidence-based clinical care.
• Partner with other clinical pathways, health specialties and partner organisations.
• Engage with children, young people and their parents/carers to support active participation.
• Identify and manage clinical and non-clinical risks within the pathway.
• Monitor demand and maintain optimal clinical capacity within the team.
• Collaborate with other leaders to maintain clinical standards and safety.
• Ensure service delivery meets key performance targets.
• Provide supervision and HR policy adherence for clinicians.
