Job summary

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Berkshire is seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to assess and manage adults with dysphagia and communication difficulties, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimise nutrition and effective communication.

You will contribute to service development, supervision of junior staff, and training for patients and carers. Flexible work arrangements are available within the Trust.

Qualifications

• Qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with HCPC.
• Experience with adults with dysphagia and communication difficulties.
• Ability to supervise and train junior staff or students.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment and management of adults with dysphagia and communication difficulties.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to clinical decision-making.
• Support safe oral intake recommendations and communication strategies.
• Deliver training and advice to patients, families, carers and healthcare staff.
• Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support and supervise junior staff and students as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with Trust and professional standards.
