The Speech and Language Therapy team at Scarborough and Bridlington hospitals are looking for a newly qualified or experienced band 5 Speech & Language Therapist to join our friendly and supportive team.
Working with adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties, our work spans across acute wards, our inpatient stroke rehabilitation unit, and community settings. As a team, we have an established SLT-led Videofluoroscopy clinic and are in the process of setting up a brand new FEES service. We offer evidenced based therapies such as expiratory muscle strength training, so opportunities to shape your learning and clinical practice will also be available.
We are passionate about evidence-based, high quality care for our patients, and run a regular journal club to ensure we have devoted time for continuous professional development.
We are proud to offer our Multi-Professional Preceptorship Programme to all newly registered practitioners. This is a wonderful opportunity to welcome you into your new teams and our Trust, providing you with support and guidance as you develop in confidence and competence whilst transitioning from student to autonomous professional.
Preceptorship lasts 12 months and you will be assigned a preceptee who will coach, mentor and guide you through regular meetings, alongside a programme of structured learning.
In this varied role, you would be supported by a team manager, a professional lead, clinical leads, Band 6 Senior SLTs, and have access to peer support from Band 5 colleagues.
The successful candidate will be joining an SLT team working across all of the settings mentioned above.
There will be excellent training and development opportunities, scope to lead in areas of service development, as well as a robust supervision and appraisal system.
