Job summary

Aspris is seeking an experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join Queenswood School in Herefordshire. The role focuses on bespoke assessment and interventions for children with autism and complex needs within a two-site independent specialist day school.

You will work in a holistic, integrated education and clinical team, contributing to training, consultation and reflective practice while managing your own workload in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Speech and Language qualification and HCPC registration.
  • Experience or strong interest in neurodiversity, autism and related needs.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary wellbeing and therapeutic services team.
  • Experience reviewing and developing therapy standards, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for autistic children and young people.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including OT, CAMHS and school staff to supportTherapeutic services.
  • Contribute to staff training, consultation and reflective practice.
  • Manage own workload with resilience and professional judgment.

Are you an experienced clinician excited to work during times of transformative change?

Are you experienced, or have a keen interest in working with the challenges associated with neurodiversity (Autism, ADHD) and other complex needs?

If so, we have the role for you! We’re looking for an experienced practitioner to join us at our school based in Herefordshire, as our Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.

Based at Queenswood School and the post holder will progress the SaLT specific therapeutic services for our young people who have a diagnosis of autism and associated complex needs.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary well-being and therapeutic services team which is required to meet the needs of the children and young people. The team includes Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapists, CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Worker, Creative Therapists and School Counsellor.

Someone with a holistic and integrated approach to education and clinical services would be perfect for this role. You will also contribute to colleague training, consultation and reflective practice.

About The School

Queenswood School is set across two sites in a beautiful rural location in Herefordshire. We are an Independent Specialist day school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 11 to 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum.

The Post Holder will work collaboratively to deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for our young people. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team making a real difference and implementing a holistic therapeutic approach.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a practitioner who has a clear vision of what outstanding therapeutic services look like. You would need to demonstrate drive, motivation and resilience and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and build consensus.

Essential Criteria
  • Recognised and relevant Speech and Language qualification.
  • Registered with HCPC.
  • Relevant SaLT experience working as a Therapist, including working with the specific client group or related field.
  • Experience of representing speech and language therapy in the context of multi-disciplinary working and multi-agency treatment.
  • Experience of reviewing and developing therapy standards, policies and procedures.
  • Clear and concise report writing.
