Job summary

Outcomes First Group's Norton College campuses are seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join the in-house clinical team. You will deliver bespoke SLT assessment and intervention to pupils, in collaboration with the education staff. HCPC and RCSLT registration, a degree in SLT, experience with complex communication profiles and trauma‑informed practice are required. This is a permanent, full‑time role with 37.5 hours weekly, covering two sites with term‑time flexibility.

Speech and Language Therapist

Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist

Location: Norton College – Worcester WR5 2BA & Norton College – Tewkesbury GL20 8UQ (covering both sites)

Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE DOE

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:30am - 4:30pm

Contract: Permanent (52 weeks or flexibility around term‑time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)

The role

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at Norton College. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working. You will hold a Speech and Language Therapy caseload, supported by a designated clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician, and contribute to staff training and consultation as required.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered, and registered with the RCSLT
  • Experience engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
  • Experience of multi‑disciplinary working in a range of settings
  • Experience communicating with families/relatives and carers
  • Interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice
  • Strong relationship‑building, analytical and judgement skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time‑management and organisational skills
  • Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
  • Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types, and formulation of support plans based on needs profile
  • Knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team
  • Willingness to attend training and work toward further qualifications relevant to the client group
  • Understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication
  • Understanding of the relationship between arousal levels and communication
