Job summary

Aspris is recruiting an experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for Queenswood School in Herefordshire. You will develop SaLT services for pupils with autism and complex needs and work within a multi-disciplinary team delivering holistic therapeutic care.

You will contribute to training and reflective practice, support colleagues, and manage your workload while delivering high standards of assessment and intervention.

Qualifications

  • Recognised and relevant Speech and Language qualification is required.
  • Registration with HCPC is required.
  • SaLT experience in therapy, including working with autism and related complex needs, is preferred.
  • Experience of representing speech and language therapy in a multi-disciplinary context with other agencies.
  • Experience of reviewing and developing therapy standards, policies and procedures.
  • Clear and concise report writing is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for young people with autism and related needs.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to meet wellbeing and therapeutic goals.
  • Contribute to training, consultation and reflective practice for colleagues.

Are you an experienced clinician excited to work during times of transformative change?

Are you experienced, or have a keen interest in working with the challenges associated with neurodiversity (Autism, ADHD) and other complex needs?

If so, we have the role for you! We’re looking for an experienced practitioner to join us at our school based in Herefordshire, as our Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.

Based at Queenswood School and the post holder will progress the SaLT specific therapeutic services for our young people who have a diagnosis of autism and associated complex needs.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary well-being and therapeutic services team which is required to meet the needs of the children and young people. The team includes Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapists, CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Worker, Creative Therapists and School Counsellor.

Someone with a holistic and integrated approach to education and clinical services would be perfect for this role. You will also contribute to colleague training, consultation and reflective practice.

Both a challenging and rewarding role; this position would suit a resilient and enthusiastic individual with a therapeutic approach and the ability to make decisions as well as manage their own workload.

About the school:

Queenswood School is set across two sites in a beautiful rural location in Herefordshire. We are an Independent Specialist day school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 11 to 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum.

The Post Holder will work collaboratively to deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for our young people. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team making a real difference and implementing a holistic therapeutic approach.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a practitioner who has a clear vision of what outstanding therapeutic services look like. You would need to demonstrate drive, motivation and resilience and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and build consensus.

Essential Criteria:
  • Recognised and relevant Speech and Language qualification.
  • Registered with HCPC.
  • Relevant SaLT experience working as a Therapist, including working with the specific client group or related field.
  • Experience of representing speech and language therapy in the context of multi-disciplinary working and multi-agency treatment.
  • Experience of reviewing and developing therapy standards, policies and procedures.
  • Clear and concise report writing.
