Job summary

Achieving for Children is seeking a Speech and Language Advisory Teacher to support mainstream primary staff in effectively assisting pupils with speech, language and communication needs. You will work with Speech and Language Therapists, the advisory team and families to deliver targeted assessments, trainings and curriculum adaptations.

You will coordinate placements, run SALEP meetings and provide progress reports while analyzing data trends to continuously improve services and policies.

Qualifications

• Hold a QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and be a registered educator.
• Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with diverse stakeholders across children, families and professionals.
• Educated to degree level with a professional qualification in education and evidence of continuing professional development.
• Strong organisational skills including time management, problem-solving and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate placement processes and the annual Speech and Language Education Placements (SALEP) meeting.
• Deliver specialist advisory support through a graduated approach and recommend curriculum adaptations.
• Conduct pupil assessments and set targeted intervention goals.
• Model exemplary teaching strategies and deliver training to upskill school-based professionals.
• Manage the schedule for school visits and write detailed progress reports for reviews.
• Analyse data trends to help improve services and policies.
