Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Speech and Language Therapy Advanced Practitioner to lead SEND reform across education and inclusion for children and young people. The role is fixed term or secondment until March 2029, 1.0 WTE at 37.5 hours per week, based at County Hall, Leicestershire, within the Families, Young People, Children’s Directorate.

Are you an experienced and dynamic speech and language therapist who wants to develop your clinical and strategic leadership skills within SEND reform, education and inclusion?

Our Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland SEND partnership is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapy Advanced Practitioner to work alongside us, driving our ambitious plans for SEND reform and improved outcomes for children and young people aged 0-25 years.

This is an exciting new role directed within government’s SEND reforms announced earlier this year. It has a whole population focus and is an excellent career development opportunity for a therapist with extensive knowledge and expertise in speech, language and communication within Early Years, community settings, schools and colleges.

The role has a key focus in strengthening the local children’s workforce in speech, language and communication practice within education through system improvement.

We are looking for a successful candidate who has proven abilities in building relationships within multiagency teams, working effectively in partnership arrangements, prioritising the voice of children, young people and families in service planning and delivery, and in evaluating impact.
